Confirmation 9th Grade Updates

During March, the class will be completing their banners and working on a couple of in-house service projects. We have several tie-blankets to complete and we are also making school kits for Lutheran Disaster Relief. We are looking for donations of school supplies to fill the bags. The blankets will be going to local nursing homes. We decided to so our service work together as a group because of the difficulty finding ways to serve others outside the church during this time of Covid-19. Some of us also will be assisting in worship related activities as Holy Week draws closer. If you have a need or see a way we can serve, please speak with Pastor Dawson.

At the February Council meeting, it was decided that Confirmation will be held outdoors at the Memorial Park Gazebo on April 25 at 10:30. As of the Governor’s guidelines for places of worship dated February 26, a 50% indoor capacity will remain in effect through the next couple of months. When a certain percentage of Minnesotans are immunized and the numbers of infected reach a certain level, the restrictions will be lifted. We have 9 students to be confirmed which means a limit of 90 people in the sanctuary would be too tight for the capacity limit. Outdoors does not limit the number attending the service. The service will be a full worship service including Holy Communion, and the youth will also be participating in the worship.
